Hey Guys! So, July is one of my favorite months of the year! With the 4th of July, my birthday and usually a family reunion it has always been a month focused on recharging and enjoy the sweet moments in life. I took three days off and went camping my some family. It was a great trip that really let me take a moment to relax and enjoy playing cards and watching the kiddos run around and play.
Once that trip was over, it was back to the grind! When I got service again with my phone, I had a missed message from work, wanting to discuss an upcoming project. I was not the happiest about that. My work load has spiked again and my work-life balance is not the greatest again.
The good news is… I am 100% Vested at in my employer funded retirement account! Because I work for a not-for-profit hospital, I have a 403b plan that is hosted by my employer. It has a pretty good employer matching with almost 6% of my salary contributed by my employer. Since my most recent promotion, I have been dumping more than 30% of my own salary into it. I am on track to max out my contributions this year!
Long Term Stock Market Goals –
My goal for my stock portfolio is function as a long-term dividend account. My diversification strategy is broken-down by different sectors and areas. I try and stay close to this breakdown – The majority of my dividends come from the Real Estate Sector and the Finance Sector.
My stock portfolio balance continues to grow! It is close to reaching $29,000! My Lending Club balance is slowly dwindling down and is almost less than $500.
I earned almost $110 in dividends, woot woot! I reinvested those earning and my earnings from juicing lime scooters in June. I purchased shares in four different stock companies, rebalancing my portfolio.
Lime Juicing Updates –
I spent more time charging lime scooters! My first month I almost earned $400 in net earnings. In July, I only spent a few hours charging so my net earnings for July were only $182.20. Still, this is pretty good for a few hours worked and only when I wanted to work them! I still plan on putting all my net earnings from juicing the lime scooters into my stock portfolio.
Photography Updates –
My photography is still going strong! I sold another print and took a lot more pictures while I was camping in Idaho! I am looking forward to working through more of my Germany adventures. This is fantastic because I am taking it as I am on the right track and there are more sales on the way! I plan on having residual income from selling prints and stock photos for a long time. All a part of my plan to work for myself and enjoy life!

Long-Term Goals –
- Be present! At work and in my personal life I find myself rushing to get from A to B to C. I am guilty of cutting phone calls short or trying to multitask through meetings and even conversations. I want to focus on slowing things down and being present with every person I interact with.
- Spend more time pursuing Photography! It is one of my passions in life and something that I truly enjoy! I have been working on getting my travel blog up and running but as of now, that is all past trips I have already taken and thought others would enjoy. I want to plan out a new adventure for this year… or maybe a couple!
- Build a Dividend Portfolio that generates around $2,000 per month. That would equate to about $24,000 annually, just from dividends. With my current diversification strategy, that would mean a $600,000 stock Portfolio earning an average of 4% on dividends. We are a long way away from reaching that but, it’s all about those baby steps along the way!
